The letter "q" in the English language is almost always followed by the letter "u" and together they make the sound /kw/. Therefore, when teaching letter sounds, it is useful to teach these letters as a pair. This winter quest is a great way to get your child outside and practicing this /kw/ sound using their senses. 

And if you put it on a clipboard and attach a crayon for colouring in, the task will be taken very seriously :)
